ReplyDeletePaul Romaine Marie Léonce Chevré was a 45 year old first class passenger on the Titanic. He grew up in Brussels, Belgium, and lived in Paris, France. Mr. Chevré was a sculptor and sculpted a number of sculptures of famous people including: Smuel de Champlain, Honoré Mercier, François-Xavier Garneau and Sir Wilfred Laurier. Chevré was on the Titanic to bring the sculpture of Sir Wilfred Laurier to Ottawa. He survived the sinking of the Titanic. After he got to North America he went to Montreal. There he died in 1914 at the age of 47.
